Food and Fluids

A well balanced diet of fresh fruit and vegetables, organic if possible, will be wonderful in supporting the body towards optimal health and immune system. Ensuring adequate hydration is also essential, filtered water is great as it removes many impurities from the water. Adding quality supplements is a wonderful way to promote optimal nutrition

Sunshine

Getting some sunshine each day is important, even if it is 10-15 minutes. Vitamin D contributes to optimising our immune system. If you have a garden, a pot plant, a book, music you like to listen to, or a song you like to sing or hum.

Having ten minutes of sunlight without sunglasses on is very good for our health, and even more so, if it is the sunlight first thing when the sun rises, due to the color of sunlight at this time of day. It’s often a peaceful time of the day too.

Deep Breathing

Taking 10 deep breaths into the low abdomen each hour, in through the nose and out through the mouth ( if possible), slowly and deeply, is relaxing, plus helps to clear the lungs of stale air, and helps minimise build up of lung secretions.

There are various ratios of breathe work, which are relaxing , one of these to count to 4, example: for the in breathe for 4, then hold for 4, breathe out for 4 , then hold for 4, and repeat. Do what is comfortable for you.

Physical Excercise Regular physical activity is also important for well being of the whole person. this can include gentle stretching, using stretch bands, body weight exercises, walking or running, lifting objects on the home, or workouts at the gym or outdoor activities or formal sports. Whatever you are able to do, hopefully you also enjoy including regular excerise as part of your healthy lifestyle. It make a massive difference to our life, and our quality of sleep.

Studies have shown that most people don”t get all the nutrition they need from what they eat, hence it makes sense to consider extra nutritional support. This can boost the immune system, and so many other positive benefits.

EPOA / Enduring Power of Attorney Education Sessions

Having a current Will is something most people are aware is important. I feel it’s equally important to have a Enduring Power of Attorney ( both Medically and Financial), in case a person is unable , even for a short time, to express their wishes. There has also been a document named Respecting Patient Choices, that was a less formal and still very important guiding tool.

I will be running Education sessions online, to explore the often emotional and important areas of the EPOA document and providing the various possible examples of things might choose to consider when deciding what to include in preparing their EPOA. Some of my aims are for people to feel supported in the education, have the opportunity to ask questions, and that they will feel more prepared for when they then go to their Dr, to formally have the document completed / signed off. I have had very positive feedback from people I have assisted in the past.
